EVENT: A Brave New HR World

On Wednesday 10th February, The HR World will host its ninth round table Debate in London:

In this VUCA world that organisations now have to operate in HR needs to be brave when applying judgement and responding to business needs rather than following a prescriptive HR agenda. HR should be fleet of foot and agile, able to respond to the different needs of an organisation throughout its growth and development?

To discuss brave and Agile HR, we are very pleased to announce that The HR World member Matt Elliott, People Director at Virgin Money will be leading our round table debate. Matt has been with Virgin Money since 2011 and is responsible for HR’s contribution to fulfilling Virgin Money’s ambition and success in creating a better bank. Following the integration of Northern Rock, including terms and conditions and harmonisation, Matt has focused on ensuring Virgin Money has the capability in place to meet its goals.

Matt will be exploring how HR can be truly responsive and agile, in a changing world where economies, markets move ever faster and organisations must evolve to remain relevant. In addition to sharing his experiences, Matt will also be focusing on the following areas:

  • How Virgin Money has adopted different approaches at each stage of its evolution whilst retaining its strong culture and purpose
  • Whether HR always takes the time to understand what success looks like for the business
  • Is HR brave enough to advise and know when to apply judgement; to be recognised for having a valid point of view
  • Agile HR
